Martin Oliver started working in the animation industry in 1991 and was trained in traditional hand drawn animation through various production companies in London.
He has animated and artworked on commercials, music videos and short films, including Jonathan Hodgson’s BAFTA award winning short The Man With The Beautiful Eyes.
He produced animation for Sam Mendes’ Olivier award winning stage production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and was an animator on BAFTA winning television series Charlie and Lola.
His personal film Elysian Fields was short listed for the Mclaren Award best new British
animation at the Edinburgh Film Festival in 2001
Since animating on The Snowman and The Snowdog at Lupus Films, he then went on to
Art Direct for them on pre school TV show Toot the Tiny Tugboat and as a layout artist on their feature film Ethel and Ernest.
Martin was then Art Director on Lupus Films' 30 min short for Channel 4 We’re Going on a Bear Hunt. He was Assistant Art Director on their feature Kensuke's Kingdom, then Art Director on their versions of Judith Kerr's books The Tiger Who Came to Tea and Mog's Christmas.
